What is wifi?

Wi-Fi / wifi is a way of getting broadband internet access without wires. WiFi allows you to connect several (more than one) computers or devices like phone, tablets at once, anywhere in the house and outside the house – or if you have a laptop, to even use your computer in the garden. You don’t need to install extra phone lines or cables.

What does it work with?

The portable pocket wifi works with any WiFi enabled device, like smartphones (example: iPhone, Blackberry, Android, ), laptops (both “Mac” and “Windows”), tablets (example: iPad, Kindle, Samsung Galaxy, lenovo,Nexus, Windows tablet, and more ). You can connect up to 10 different devices at the same time to a pocket wifi.

How many devices can I connect?

You can have up to 5 different devices for 3G device and up to 10 devices for the 4G device connected to the wifi device at the same (Note: The more device you have connected to the wifi equipment, the slower your internet would be and the faster it would take for you to consume your allocated internet data ).

Can I extend my hire/rental?

Yes you can. This would be charged at the same price rate as a brand new hire. Example: if you wish to extend for 1 day, the price would be the same price as 1 day hire.

What amount of internet data do I get?

1 – 7 days hire: comes with 2GB(2000MB) of data
8 days or more hire: comes with 6GB(6000MB) of data
to use throughout the hire period. If the data gets used up before the end of hire date, clients can follow the step by step guide included in the package to add more data to the device.
6GB (6000MB) of data would normally be enough for an average internet browsing user for up to 3 to 4 weeks, except you plan on doing heavy browsing and downloads.

How do I add more data when I use-up my data?

Your package will include a top-up card and an easy to follow step-by-step guide on how to add more data.
If you use-up your allocated data, you would automatically be redirected to a page where you can pay for more data.
Or if your prefer you can send us an email or leave a message on our phone line, and we would credit your device with more data (This option would incur a transaction charge ).

Do you slow down the speed if I reach my limit?

We do not have any daily limit, and NO we do not restrict your speed at all.

Why don't you offer unlimited data?

There really isn’t unlimited data on mobile internet. Companies that claim to offer unlimited data on mobile internet would actually cut you off, or drastically slow your data down if you use more than 200MB* within a 24 hour period ( read their terms & conditions), so their unlimited data comes with restrictions. We do not slow down or customers.

Which network does the data supply come from?

The data provided through the wifi internet device is supplied by “EE”. We have chosen to use “EE” data service because they are reliable and have a good coverage over the U.K.

Delivery and pick-up related questions

How would I pickup or collect the internet device?

If you would be staying in a Hotel, B&B, Hostel,Motel, Holiday resort, managed holiday rental flat
It would be delivered to your accommodation, and reserved for you at the reception. So you can collect it as you check into your room.
If you would be staying in a private house or with family
It would be delivered to your accommodation. All you need to do is give us the address of the flat, house and it would be sent there using a tracked postage system. If you wish, we can arrange for the package to get there a day after your arrival or on the day of your arrival*

I would only spend 1 day in my hotel/first hotel,can you send it there on time

Yes even if you are spending just one day in your first/arrival hotel, we can still deliver the wifi device there. But we must receive your order at least 2 working days before your arrival. If you have any questions, please email us at info@wifihire.co.uk

How can I return the device?

The package would include a return postage envelope (already paid by us) that you can use in posting the device back to us just by popping it into “any” post box in the U.K before you depart for the airport. Please post it before you depart for the airport because the post boxes in the airport only accepts flat envelopes (for security reasons). There are red post boxes on almost every street in the United Kingdom, so you can put it into any post box before you go to the airport.

Can I return the device through the airport?

Would the device get to my accommodation before my arrival?

Yes, we always aim to deliver the wireless dongle to delivery address 1 or 2 days before your actual arrival/start of hire date, so that you can just plug in when you arrive.

Is the end of hire date the same date for posting it back?

The end of hire date is the day before you post the device back to us.

When returning the device, does it have to be handed over the counter in a post office?

You don’t need to send it through the post office. The return postage envelope has already been paid for , so you can just pop it into “any” post box in the U.K (Red post boxes are located on almost every street in the United Kingdom)

Payment related question

How and when do I get my refundable deposit

The refundable deposit would be issued back into your payment account (account you used in making your payment) within 28 days after we have received the wifi device in a good working order (no major damages and in a condition good enough for another client to use the device).

Do you store my card details?

No we do not store the card details from any customer. Payments are handled by trusted companies (Paypal, Stripe) used by millions of internet companies and individuals.
